Cancellation & Refund Policy

This Cancellation and Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which Hopeful Charity Foundation Trust ("HCFT") may process refunds for donations made through our website.

1. Nature of Donations

All donations made to HCFT are voluntary charitable contributions intended to support our programs and beneficiaries. Donations are not payments for goods or services and are made with philanthropic intent.

2. General Policy

As a charitable organization, donations once received are allocated to programs and beneficiaries. Therefore, we generally follow a no-refund policy for completed donations. However, we understand that errors and special circumstances may arise.

3. Eligible Refund Scenarios

A refund may be considered in the following cases:

  • Duplicate Transaction: If you are charged multiple times for the same donation due to a technical glitch.
  • Incorrect Amount: If the amount charged is significantly different from the intended donation amount due to a system error.
  • Unauthorized Transaction: If you did not authorize the transaction and it was fraudulent.
  • Payment Failure with Debit: If your account was debited but the transaction was not recorded as successful on our end.

4. Refund Request Process

  • Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the transaction date.
  • Email your request to finance@hopefulcharityfoundation.org with:
    • Your full name and email used during donation
    • Transaction ID / Payment reference number
    • Date of transaction
    • Amount
    • Reason for refund request

5. Refund Processing

  • All refund requests will be reviewed within 5-7 business days.
  • Approved refunds will be credited back to the original payment method within 10-15 business days.
  • The timeline may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
  • You will be notified via email once the refund is processed.

If you have set up a recurring donation and wish to cancel:

  • Change of mind after successful donation
  • Requests made after 7 days of transaction
  • Donations made through bank transfer (contact bank directly)
  • Donations where 80G certificate has already been issued and submitted for tax filing

8. Impact on Tax Certificates

If a refund is processed for a donation for which an 80G certificate was issued, the certificate stands cancelled. It is the donor's responsibility to adjust their tax filings accordingly.
